Gp Doesn’t want to refer to Hospital , Do I Have right to ask for it?
Posted in Health Insurance OnlineMy 4 yrs old son has skin condition, we have been to GP many times and He gave different creams but my son’s skin getting worse. GP says he would not refer to NHS hospital for Dermatologist and this is just Eczema and Referring would be waste of money. He would refer to private but will cost ВЈ250, do I have right to get referral to NHS hospital?

You are entitled to a second opinion, who may be happier to refer to a dermatologist, but I’m not sure about the technicality of a right to referral. Have you called NHS Direct? They are always helpful, and will be able to tell you what you more exactly are entitled to and advise you how to go about getting it. 0845 46 47.
