Yet the government are saying that single and same sex couples should be given IVF as long as they are under 40 years of age. Is this fattism? Are they right to say OK to gays but not to obese women? How will they determine other treatments in the future? Smokers will not get treatment for lung cancer, alcoholics will not get treatment for liver disease!!!

I am delighted to see and hear so many intelligent and thoughtful ansers, but I want to understand, where do we stop in the discrimination of minority groups, and why do we consider minority groups? Why should we not be considering the majority instead? After all, are we not all equal and should expect equal rights?

i know what it is but what is like? i have been trying for a baby for 4 years and have had an operation nothing is wrong so next is ivf? whos had it and what am i facing?

my husband and i have been trying for a baby for 5 years and recently heard on the news that ivf on the nhs would be available to couples who already had children from another marrige.I have an 8year old daughter who longs for a brother or sister.We have had iui on the nhs which failed and was then told we had to have ivf which we had to pay for.As you are aware it is expencive and trying to save is not always easy.I have been trying to seek advice with no luck.I only need some hope that one day someone will help us and we will get what we have longed so long for.

I have read so much about it but I think I need practical info from someone who has been through the process and understands the stress (or not!) involved, for example diet and exercise, sex, how many people did you tell? Any information would be very gratefully received.

I know there are different factors for each case but I was just wondering what the success rate is. Also, is it free on the NHS for your first one and how much do they cost after that?

Has anyone experienced this? What can I do to get rid of it? They are scanning me again on Friday and hopefully it will be gone but if not then they will do a blood test to see if it’s producing oestrogen if it’s not they will ignore it and continue the treatment. I just want it to go so I can have my treatment!!!
